Qualifications and Experience

Since qualification as a physiotherapist in 2000, I have developed a broad range of expertise and special interests. After a few years working for the NHS in London, I specialised in the field of musculoskeletal physiotherapy. I have worked with some of the country’s top orthopaedic and sports consultants gaining invaluable skills to treat and rehabilitate a wide range of conditions including complex shoulder and upper limb problems as well as back and neck injuries.

For 9 years my work at a private clinic at Bisham Abbey gave me significant experience of sports injury rehabilitation. Clients there ranged from elite level athletes to recreational sports enthusiasts of all ages. This included children who trained on site at tennis and football academies. I worked alongside podiatrists, osteopaths, nutritional therapists, massage therapists and a councillor. This gave me me a broad understanding of other key elements which can be fundamental to fast recovery and effective rehabilitation.

Through my continuing professional development, I have trained in a variety of different treatment techniques. I can offer several effective treatments such as myofascial release, muscle activations as well as instrument assisted soft tissue mobilisation. I am also trained in the use of acupuncture and one to one clinical pilates instruction. Please see our treatment page for further explanation of these techniques.

I also have a particular interest in treating dizziness and vertigo using vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT). With over 10 years experience in managing this condition, I find it incredibly rewarding to see the dramatic improvement physiotherapy can make to an often chronic problem.

Becoming a mother of two young children increased my awareness of the stresses that pregnancy places on the body. I am experienced in treatment of pregnancy related pelvic pain and postnatal physiotherapy.

I also specialise in running related injuries. My husband’s passion for ultra marathons has given me a greater understanding of the fitness required and the injuries that can be sustained when training to this level. With a little help from me he has been able to complete the Marathon Des Sables and the Ultra Trail Mont Blanc in relatively good shape!
